Apple recently released it’s latest version of the iOS operating system that powers the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

The major addition with this new release of the iOS is the ability to turn your iPhone into a Personal Hotspot to share the iPhone’s 3G internet connectivity with other devices over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB.  Connectivity can be shared among five devices at the same time, 3 of which could be Wi-Fi devices.  Both AT&T and Verizon will offer Personal Hotspot on the iPhone.

Some of the other new features include AirPlay which let’s you stream content from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your HDTV via Apple TV.  You can stream music, movies, photos and even home made videos.

The rate at which the Safari browser runs JavaScript in iOS 4.3 is double the rate of iOS 4.2. This speed increase is through the Nitro JavaScript engine.  Web pages should load faster and sites with interactive features should respond faster.

iTunes Home Sharing allows you to play the iTunes library in your Mac or PC on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch using a shred Wi-Fi network.  You do not need to download or sync.  You can play all your iTunes content such as movies, music, audio books and pod cast.

iOS 4.3 allows you to customize the button on the side of your iPad to lock the screen in landscape or portrait, or to turn sound on and off.  In the previous version of iOS you could only use this button the turn sound on and off.  This customization is done using the settings of the iPad.
